Amazon hires Adept co-founders and licenses Adept agent technology
Amazon hired Adept co-founders David Luan, Maxwell Nye, Augustus Odena, Erich Elsen, and Kelsey Szot along with much of the technical team, and licensed Adept's agent technology. Adept continued as a smaller company focused on enterprise applications. The structure mirrors the Microsoft-Inflection acqui-hire-as-license template and avoided traditional M&A clearance. Luan moved into a senior AGI team role inside Amazon Web Services.
